One of my personal favourite paintings that I have done though unfortunately it looks a million times better in real life as it is very big. It’s from a group show that I was part of in 2010, Don’t Quit Your Day Job.
I did a photoshoot earlier tonight in an attempt to confront some of my hangups about my body and self.
Erm, a set of 13 photos can be found over at my Feminism, Art, Porn and Sex blog here.
Small update over at sighfive.com including some Christmas treats hidden in the links.
I LOVE the body/self acceptance movement. I really do.The gorgeous Kadaver.

Sex monsters as a “thing” fascinate me for so many reasons. I can’t really say I share the fetish but I’ve been intrigued by the relationship between monsters and sex for a long time. Sex is often treated as something dark, dangerous, abject and horrible and the metaphor of the monster relates very closely to that.
I’m also really interested in the dark places people go in sexual fantasy, the just below the surface relationship between sex and violence which I believe is not only cultural, but biological. A lot of old erotica seems to explore that in really interesting (if not a little disturbing at times) ways.
Blah blah blah etc etc.
This is me, Kyla, the creator of this photo project. Learning to accept and love my body as it is has been the journey of a lifetime. I look forward to us all sharing with the world, who we are, from all angles. <3
I’ve always found the paintings of Lucian Freud to be incredibly beautiful and human.
